The Midwest 988 Elliott Bay boat model is, in my opinion, aimed at all those who love beautiful wooden boat kits and classic models to sail.
Inspired by an original from the Elliott Bay Steam Launch Company of Portland, Oregon, this radio-controlled boat to build captures the elegance of a traditional steam launch.
The kit was initially designed to accommodate a steam engine sold separately, but it also allows for the installation of an electric motor, appealing to both fans of sailing boat models and enthusiasts of RC boats to assemble.
It includes a plastic hull, laser-cut wooden parts, and the necessary fittings.
I also appreciate the presence of step-by-step instructions, very reassuring for beginners.
With its size of about 640 mm and its scale 1/25, I find that this model boat replica offers a great balance between realism, construction enjoyment, and sailing potential.
