Model of AH-1W Super Cobra Plastic Helicopter(Turned Exhaust) 1:35

The Bell AH-1 SuperCobra is a twin-engine attack helicopter developed for the United States Marine Corps (USMC), which primarily operates it. The Cobra twin-engine family, itself part of the larger Huey family, includes the AH-1J SeaCobra, the AH-1T Improved SeaCobra, and the AH-1W SuperCobra.

In the early 1980s, the Marine Corps was in search of a new naval helicopter; therefore, it tested the Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopter for a two-week period in September 1981, including shipboard operational trials. Several concepts were explored during this time, but the AH-64's funding request was rejected by Congress that same year. The Marines then opted for a more powerful version of the AH-1T. Among other modifications, the targeting systems were modified to carry and launch AIM-9 Sidewinder and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles. The new version, funded by Congress, was designated AH-1W. In March 1986, deliveries of the AH-1W SuperCobra began, totaling 179 new helicopters and the upgrade of 43 existing AH-1T helicopters.
