The Kamov Ka-52 Alligator is an all-weather combat helicopter developed by the Kamov Design Bureau. The Ka-52 is a two-seat version of the Ka-50 helicopter. It was designed to attack armored and non-armored ground targets, as well as low-speed aerial targets.
Based on the Ka-50 airframe, the front fuselage of the Ka-52 was redesigned to incorporate a side-by-side two-seat cockpit. The Ka-52 features a wider nose due to reduced cockpit armor and the front-mounted radome. The 30mm cannon and six wing-mounted hardpoints from the Ka-50 were retained on the Ka-52. The helicopter is equipped with a crew ejection rescue system incorporating an ejection device and a rocket-parachute.
The Ka-52 has six external hardpoints on the wings for anti-tank missiles, rockets, and air-to-air missiles.
The radar systems are respectively mounted on the nose. The Samshite day/night thermal sighting system is housed in spherical turrets located under the nose.
