Radio-controlled Fieseler Storch 156C 35cc ARF thermal plane

The Fieseler Fi 156 is a German military reconnaissance aircraft from World War II, manufactured by the Fieseler Company and designed in 1935.

It is nicknamed Storch (stork in German) because of its high-legged landing gear.

Equivalent to the American Piper L-4 Grasshopper or Stinson L-5 Sentinel, it excelled in its missions of observation, transporting personnel or equipment, and medical evacuation.

From 1935 to 1945, the Luftwaffe used approximately 2,900 Fieseler Fi 156 aircraft on all fronts throughout the war.

The Fieseler Storch is entirely focused on low-speed flight and short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance.

All made possible by its complex wing with a high lift coefficient, equipped with both slotted flaps and flaps.

The BlackHorse version features fixed flaps and real Fowler-type flaps. The flaps and ailerons even feature details such as simulated counterweights, just like the real aircraft. Once deployed, the low-speed performance is simply astounding!

Not only is it slow, but it is also predictable and easy to control.

The scale-style struts look neat while being fully structural. The fuselage is equipped with a realistic canopy and cockpit. To achieve this, Black Horse has implemented a complex internal structure made of carefully brazed metal rods.

Then there's the landing gear. It offers an authentic and functional representation of a key design feature of a Storch.

It is both complex and simple, equipped with functioning shock absorbers.

All you need is a 28-33 cc gasoline engine to see this aircraft take off majestically. It is at this moment that the magnificent scale color scheme becomes so evident. The performance is peaceful (as expected), but the excitement of STOL performance is simply captivating.
