Junkers JU87-B2 Stuka
After the success of the original model of the Stuka Black Horse with a wingspan of 1.94 meters, it was inevitable that Black Horse would develop an even larger version, perfectly suited to the popular category of 50cc gas engines for radio-controlled aircraft.
The structure is entirely made of balsa and plywood, assembled with exclusive factory jigs, and then covered with printed vinyl. The reinforced fiberglass cowl, strong and lightweight, easily conceals most engines and their mufflers.
Just like its more compact version, it retains an incredibly faithful silhouette and a remarkable color scheme, while displaying an even more performance-enhancing wing loading. This gives this model exemplary maneuverability in flight, while giving it a real "presence" in the air. The extremely effective flaps and ailerons ensure total control at all speeds, and give it a remarkable ability to resist stalling at the wingtip, an unexpected feature shared by its smaller version.
Inside these imposing scale tail fins is a robust steel suspension landing gear, ideal for absorbing the typical terrain irregularities of model flying fields. In the cockpit, you will find a detailed dashboard and a pilot with an authentic appearance, meticulously hand-painted.
An imposing model that will surely delight its owner!
In 1935, the first model of the Ju 87, designed by the Junkers firm, took flight. This light ground attack bomber immediately stood out as an exceptional aircraft, especially since it was very well armed. Tested during the Spanish Civil War, the Stuka actively participated in the Battle of Britain in 1940, a period where it proved vulnerable if not escorted by more agile fighters.
From 1942, it was deployed on the Eastern Front, where it carried out anti-tank bombing missions. The Junkers Ju 87 notably took part in small offensives during the Normandy campaign in the summer of 1944.
The Stuka is equipped with a siren that sounds when it dives towards its target. This bomber also represents a psychological weapon, both for the military and civilian populations.
More than 5,700 units were built.
