Familiarly nicknamed "The Jug," the P-47 was the heaviest and sturdiest of American single-engine fighters, as well as the last to use a radial engine.
The P-47D Thunderbolt is one of those planes that has stood the test of time. Although it has been modeled many times, BlackHorse has chosen to design a large-scale model for 30cc gas engines, focusing on realism and presence in flight.

The real Thunderbolt was a very sturdy machine that often returned from combat with large missing parts, sometimes even engine cylinders! Black Horse's version may not reach these extremes, but it is undeniably robust!

Black Horse's model designs prioritize strength where needed and lightness where not essential. From the computer-aided design (CAD) phase, the goal is to achieve the right balance between robustness and low wing loading. Low wing loading means no unpleasant surprises at low speeds and less wear on the landing gear.

The provided landing gear is the latest generation of Black Horse's electric retractable landing gear, with sturdy oleo legs. This landing gear system has been refined and improved throughout production at Black Horse to result in this brand new generation.

The precision-cut balsa and plywood parts, assembled according to a factory template, ensure perfect alignment during your assembly.

All wooden parts are covered with durable Oracover film and complemented by authentic decals, for a striking and practical color scheme.

The 30cc Thunderbolt is an excellent choice for modelers who appreciate realistic and practical scale models and simply do not want to spend a year building it.
