The XtremeAir Sbach 342 (XA42) is a high-performance German two-seat monoplane designed for aerobatics and touring flights, created by Philipp Steinbach in collaboration with Albert Mylius and built by XtremeAir GmbH, based in Hecklingen.
The Sbach 342 (commercial name of the XA42) is a low-wing monoplane with a composite structure, featuring a fixed conventional landing gear with a tailwheel and a carbon fiber fuselage. It is powered by a Lycoming AEIO-580-B1A 315 hp (235 kW) piston engine driving a three-blade propeller. This is the two-seat version of the single-seat XA 41 (XtremeAir Sbach 300) which was designed by the same team in Speyer in 2004. The XA42 received a type certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency in March 2011. In November 2012, it obtained its type certification from the FAA.

The Zivko Edge 540 is a competition aerobatic aircraft built by the American company Zivko Aeronautics. The Edge 540 is one of the aircraft used in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.
