EHMAR figures have now become extremely rare — the brand is no longer in production. This is therefore the last opportunity to acquire these unique collectible figures via Scientific MHD. They represent Ottoman troops in 1877: soldiers wearing fezzes, cross-buttoned tunics, curved sabers, and percussion rifles. These 1/72 scale plastic figures faithfully depict the diversity of the Ottoman army, supported by Bashi-Bazouks, feared irregular units known for their brutality.
Ottoman uniforms, often colorful and distinctive, produce a striking visual result once the paintwork is complete. Modelers can recreate Ottoman defensive lines at Plevna, the fierce resistance of the defenders of Kars, or the final fighting around Adrianople.
CAESAR figures complete the picture with Russian and Ottoman officers. Holding maps, wearing binoculars, pistols in hand, these characters embody the complexity of military operations in a war that also involved engineering, medicine, and diplomacy. An Ottoman officer scanning the horizon from a trench, a Russian general issuing orders in the snow — all are evocative scenes to reproduce with precision.
Thanks to these collectible figures, dioramas gain a new dimension. Strategic tension, hesitation, failed breakthroughs, and exhausting marches through Balkan snowfields can all be represented.
Strelet-R also offers specific sets for Russian artillery, with bronze cannons pulled by sturdy teams. Artillery crews wearing rolled coats and fatigue caps are ideal for depicting batteries deployed on the heights of Gorny Dubnyak or during the sieges of Ani and Erzurum.
Cossack cavalry, sabers drawn, galloping on compact ponies, provide a dramatic contrast to the lighter Ottoman cavalry, often of Syrian or Kurdish origin. These mobile units are perfect for illustrating raids, harassment actions, and skirmishes along the flanks of the front.
For enthusiasts of 1/72 scale plastic figures, this war offers a wealth of possible scenes: assaults on fortifications, long marching columns, mountain fighting, or firefights across the Danubian plains. Contrasting uniforms, varied poses, distinctive equipment, and the mix of regular and irregular troops make this period a prime subject for knowledgeable collectors.
It is also a time marked by the early signs of modern warfare: the emergence of trench fighting, the growing role of the press, telegraph communications, and the first presence of the International Red Cross on the battlefield — all elements that can be integrated into historical displays.

The Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878 is a little-known but essential chapter of history, at the crossroads of the Ottoman, Russian, and Balkan worlds. Thanks to the richness of available 1/72 scale figures, every enthusiast can now relive this epic conflict.
