About your 1957 Chevrolet Nomad: it all started at the 1954 Autorama show. General Motors exhibited vehicles “from the future” alongside its current models. The queues that formed around one of these “future” vehicles—a luxury station wagon—convinced them to launch production of the Chevrolet Nomad.
The Nomad was a special two-door sports station wagon from Chevrolet, production of which ended in 1957 after three years. The Nomad name was retained, but for a four-door model starting in 1958, which sold much better than the two-door model. All tri-five two-door Nomad models are now highly sought after by collectors and are particularly prized when they are original.
Only 6,103 Nomad models were built in 1957, for a total of 22,375 units over three years.
The Atlantis version of the elegant 1957 Nomad captures the excitement of late 1950s drive-ins.
It is packed with details, such as a Chevrolet small-block V-8 engine that can be mounted in two ways, an opening hood, and a hinged rear tailgate.
Build it with the original Bel Air hubcaps or chrome wheels.
It comes with beautiful flame decals, similar to those on the famous Hollingsworth Nomad.
