M107 Tecumseh 1812 (re-issue).\n( 1768–1813 ) Shawnee Indian chief; also Tecumtha . His plan to organize a military confederacy of tribes to resist US encroachment was thwarted by the defeat of his brother, Tenskwatawa ( c.1768–1834 ) (also called the Prophet ), at Tippecanoe 1811. An ally of the British in the War of 1812, Tecumseh fought and died in Ontario at the Battle of the Thames.
