This famous battleship of the Tirpitz class relied on speed and endurance to outmatch and destroy its enemies. With a length of over 240m, displacing over 42,000 tons and reaching speeds in excess of 30 knots. Eight powerful fifteen-inch guns are mounted in four main turrets. In May 1941, the Bismarck was destroyed in one of the most famous battles in modern naval history. In a desperate attempt to access the North Atlantic sea lanes, the Bismarck was intercepted by a well-coordinated British naval effort.
