Model of a 1:48 scale Fairey Barracuda plastic airplane
The Fairey Barracuda was a British naval torpedo/dive bomber used during World War II. It was the first all-metal aircraft of its type. Designed to replace the aging Fairey Swordfish and Fairey Albacore biplanes, it played a significant role in the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz and was known for its unusual appearance with folded wings. It was named after the barracuda, a predatory fish.
