The Panavia Tornado is a collaborative project between the United Kingdom, West Germany, and Italy. It is a two-seater, twin-engine, variable-sweep wing aircraft. The first Tornado flew on August 14, 1974, and was delivered to the German Air Force on July 27, 1979. Production ended in 1998, with a total of 992 aircraft built across all variants. There are three primary versions of the Tornado IDS fighter-bomber.
