Robart 602 90° Mechanical Nose Retract

The Robart 602 mechanical nose retract is designed for radio-controlled airplanes up to approximately 5 lb or 2.27 kg. It complements the Robart 600 series mechanical main retracts and provides a compact solution for equipping an RC airplane with a retractable nose gear. The 602 model features a 90° retract mechanism with a 1/8-inch hardened steel wire leg, approximately 3.2 mm in diameter. Its mechanical system does not require a compressed air tank or pneumatic circuit: the retract and extend functions are directly controlled by a servo.

Integrated Steering Nose Retract

The Robart 602 incorporates a steering mechanism using control arms to steer the front wheel during taxiing. This feature enhances ground control during turns, taxiing to the runway, and alignment before takeoff. The mechanism has positive locking in both the retracted and extended positions. The cam system ensures a smooth operation sequence and helps securely hold the gear in each position. The nose gear is suitable for RC airplanes equipped with tricycle landing gear, provided that the fuselage space allows for a 90° retract.
