Rediscover the legendary Cutty Sark, one of the most famous clippers of the 19th century, thanks to the new version revisited by Billing Boats at a scale of 1/75.
This iconic model, entirely in wood, captivates with its elegance, the richness of its details, and the quality of its design.
A true masterpiece of naval modeling, it is aimed at enthusiasts of historic sailing ships and traditional construction.
Built in 1869, the Cutty Sark was one of the fastest sailing ships in the world, sailing between England, China, and Australia. Its architect, Hercules Linton, dreamed of beating the famous Thermopylae and establishing his ship as the most efficient of its time.
With its 85.34 meters in length, 10.97 meters in width, and a draft of 6.4 meters, it had a displacement of 2,133 tons. Today, this historic clipper has become a training ship and museum moored at Greenwich, admired worldwide for its timeless elegance.
The manufacturer Billing Boats has completely redesigned its kit to offer a modernized version even more faithful to the original.
The assembly errors of previous editions have been corrected and several technical improvements have been made:
A new laser-cut wooden parts board, with a higher level of detail.
Two brass wheels for the bilge pump, reproduced with accuracy.
An assembly manual enriched with new clear and precise diagrams.
The box contains all the pre-cut wooden parts, the fittings elements, and the specific fabric for making the sails.
The modeler can cut and sew the sails themselves for an authentic finish.
Optionally, a set of sewn fabric sails (ref. S052564V) is also available.
