Leonardo da Vinci was fascinated by the escapement mechanisms that measure time. He studied a number of them. Based on his work, the new ACADEMY model uses the laws of motion and an escapement pendulum "flywheel" to maintain precise time. The weight of the pendulum acts as the clock's power source. This model does not require glue for assembly or a battery to achieve movement. It is a fascinating and easy-to-assemble functional model. Available in May 2016.
