Plastic boat model Titanic 95T03719 Super-Detal Kit€259.95 - ref. 95TI66600 |

From the first characteristics, the tone is set. A length of 1347 mm for only 144.6 mm in width, over 1.3 meters of hull... we are dealing with an oversized model here. This Titanic model impresses as much with its dimensions as with its finesse.
With over 1280 pieces, spread over 19 sprues, in addition to the hull and decks, the assembly promises long hours of enjoyment. In my opinion, this is exactly what we look for in an adult model: an immersive, progressive project where each step brings its own satisfaction.
The hull is molded in one piece thanks to a slide mold, ensuring a perfectly smooth line and significantly reducing adjustments. This is a real advantage, especially on a ship of this size, where any flaw would be immediately visible.
What particularly impressed me about this kit is the level of realism offered from the start. The textures of the decks are faithfully reproduced, immediately adding visual depth, even before painting. You can feel the attention to detail, and it changes everything once the model is completed.
Trumpeter has also included 7 sheets of photo-etched parts including railings, ladders, and other fine elements. For me, this is a true quality marker. These metal parts provide a precision impossible to achieve with injected plastic alone, especially on delicate elements like railings.
Another appreciated detail: the anchor chain is provided in metal. It's a small element, indeed, but it strongly contributes to the final appearance and enhances the realistic aspect of the bow.
It is clear that this ship model kit has been designed to offer a complete experience, without requiring additional accessories as soon as the box is opened.
Initially planned as an option, internal LED lighting is finally included directly in the kit, following numerous requests from modelers. And frankly, it's an excellent decision.
In my opinion, this is what transforms this Titanic model into a true display piece. Once the LEDs are installed, the portholes and superstructures come to life, giving a whole new dimension to the model. The lighting highlights the volumes, emphasizes the lines of the liner, and creates a particularly immersive atmosphere, especially in a slightly dimmed room.
For those who enjoy showcasing their creations, this is a major asset. You are no longer just assembling a scale model: you are creating a scene, almost a setting.
Let's be clear: we are not talking about a "weekend" kit here. This adult model is intended for those who enjoy taking their time, working neatly, and refining every detail.
Between assembling the hull, placing the textured decks, integrating the photo-etched parts, and installing the LEDs, the project is substantial. But that's precisely what makes this model interesting. Personally, I believe that this type of project really allows for technical improvement, whether in painting, fitting, or managing sub-assemblies.
It also serves as an excellent foundation for those who want to go further: light weathering, subtle aging, improving certain details... the potential is enormous.
As a seller and modeling enthusiast, I come across many kits. And honestly, few offer such a balance between size, level of detail, and included features.
This Titanic model ticks all the boxes: impressive dimensions, meticulous design, photo-etched parts, metal chain, and LED lighting provided as standard. It naturally stands out as a reference in the world of large-scale ship model kits.
If you are looking for an adult model kit that will keep you occupied for a while, while offering a spectacular final result, this is a choice that I consider very safe. It's the kind of model that you enjoy building... and even more so displaying.
I simply advise not to wait too long if you are interested: the initial productions are announced in limited quantities, and this type of kit usually quickly gains popularity among enthusiasts.
For me, it is clearly one of the most beautiful Titanic models currently available, and a project that I recommend without hesitation to all lovers of large ships and technical challenges.
