How to choose your model making tools ?

How do you look after your model tools ?
Two important things to remember when you are preparing your tools are one: make sure you have all the tools you need for your project and two: that they are all in working order. How you look after your equipment will depend on the tool. You will undoubtedly start by equipping yourself with a basic toolbox containing screwdrivers, spanners and pliers. The most important thing to remember is to keep everything together and not lose anything.
Other aspects of model making, such as shaping and painting, require much more care. Shaping is mainly done with a hollow chisel or gouge, but make sure you have the right one for the material you are working with.
If you are painting, you will need to clean your brushes with a solvent. If you are working with an airbrush, you can take it apart completely to remove any residual paint. Demineralised water might be sufficient, however, depending on the type of airbrush you use, you may need a specific solvent.
