An Exceptional Model for Experienced Modelers
The Fairmount Alpine:
To meet the highest quality standards demanded by its international clientele, Fairmount Marine commissioned the Niigata Shipyard in Japan to build no less than five new high-sea tugboats capable of exerting a bollard pull of 205 tonnes, designed for long-distance towing and anchor handling operations.
In this series, the FAIRMOUNT SHERPA, with a bollard pull of 205 tonnes, was delivered in May 2005 and integrated into the fleet. It was followed in October 2005 by its sister ship FAIRMOUNT SUMMIT, then in May 2006 by FAIRMOUNT ALPINE, the third tugboat of the series and one of the largest and most powerful tugboats ever built for Dutch interests.
In July 2006, the FAIRMOUNT GLACIER joined the Fairmount Marine fleet. The fifth super-tugboat of the series, the FAIRMOUNT EXPEDITION, was finally delivered in May 2007.
The main activities of Fairmount involve long-distance oceanic towing and maritime rescue operations. With a fleet of five tugs capable of developing a pull of 200 tonnes at the bollard, the company also provides transportation of heavy loads using semi-submersible barges, as well as global operations of Fukada Salvage with its modern fleet of offshore support vessels and floating cranes.
Fairmount operates a fleet consisting of ultra-powerful tugs for long-distance towing, semi-submersible barges, including the world's largest unit, the GAVEA LIFTER with 50,000 tonnes of deadweight tonnage, as well as versatile offshore support vessels.
